Donatello Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Washington Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovânio Britto during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pimento booed when Lagoinas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 minutes, Elói Baiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lagoinas and the Pimento players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lagoinas getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Elói Baiano hit a great ball. Paulinho dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Thiago Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Washington Linares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donatello Félix went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Ademar Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gugu do Vale hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Anselmo Faustino got free in front of the goal in the 26th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Thiago Alvarenga was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Paulinho dos Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Alvarenga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pimento's Virgílio de Queirós got a free kick in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Anselmo Faustino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lagoinas's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Faustino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Alvarenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thiago Alvarenga acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 42nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fabiano de Lara. Ademar Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Linares having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Anselmo Faustino made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Paulinho dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagoinas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho dos Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 53rd minute, Cléber Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Washington Linares made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Ademar Vianna sent off a good shot on target. If Ademar Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Paulinho dos Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Alvarenga was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After having played for 77 minutes, Paulinho dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagoinas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho dos Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pimento's Thiago Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinho dos Santos in the 82nd minute of play. Thiago Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho dos Santos in the 83rd minute of the match. The supporters of Lagoinas booed when Pimento was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Gugu do Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
