Célio Cordeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Célio Cordeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th minute, Cristóvão Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Digo Vinhas having to interfere. Amendoim's Hélio Arruda got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Jacarecoara FC's goalkeeper Zé Paes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valério Carioca. Roberto Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Digo Vinhas having to interfere. Zé Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Roberto Alagoano struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Digo Vinhas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jacarecoara FC. Digo Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Teixeira in the 37th minute of play. Hélio Arruda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Paes having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Jacarecoara FC's Cristóvão Berger got a free kick in the 44th minute. Hélio Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal Teixeira in the 53rd minute of play forced Amendoim's goalkeeper Digo Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valério Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cristóvão Berger fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacarecoara FC's protests and gave Cristóvão Berger a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute, Cristóvão Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 59 minutes, Valério Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amendoim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valério Carioca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Virgílio Zilles hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Digo Vinhas was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Juvenal Teixeira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Juvenal Teixeira really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. If Roberto Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cafu Tróia charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cafu Tróia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Amendoim booed when Jacarecoara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cafu Tróia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 77 minutes had been played. Jacarecoara FC's Roberto Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 81 minutes, Didi Maia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amendoim and the Jacarecoara FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Didi Maia hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Roberto Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute of the match, Roberto Alagoano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Digo Vinhas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jacarecoara FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
