A collision led to Ascuria getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Christian de Almeida hit a great ball. Chiquinho Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Santana in the 19th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Donatos EC's Evaristo Oliveira got a free kick in the 20th minute. Dedé Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute, Eusébio Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Gilmar Chaves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dedé Melo. Donatos EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilmar Chaves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Chiquinho Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Tiaguinho Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilmar Chaves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dedé Melo having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gilmar Chaves made the kick off in the second half. Dedé Melo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gilmar Chaves showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 52 minute of play. In the 65th minute Evaristo Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Oliveira couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
