If Duarte Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 9 in the game by Geovânio Pernambucano from a close distance when the talented Luiz Paulo Vander managed to make a qualified save. Jardineira SS's players were relieved. In the 9th match minute, Jardineira SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glauco Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. Hermínio Zilles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Vander having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Jardineira SS's goal looked a bit too open when Hermínio Zilles came free, but Luiz Paulo Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilian Tavares's late challenge caught a Jardineira SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilian Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute, Wilian Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the game, Glauco Pinheiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jardineira SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arapoti the free kick. Glauco Pinheiro hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Manolo Guerra succeeded in the game's 25th minute to get real power on a long shot . Jardineira SS's Luiz Paulo Vander hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 1-0! Arnaldo Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Duarte Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 36 minutes, Hermínio Zilles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arapoti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermínio Zilles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arapoti's Geovânio Pernambucano got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Paulo Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Zilles in the 40th minute of play. Leonardo de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Belmiro Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Coelho in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 46th minute, one of Jardineira SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jardineira SS. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Hermínio Zilles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Luiz Paulo Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovânio Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovânio Pernambucano in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Paulo Vander saved Jardineira SS from getting behind. After having played for 63 minutes, Hermínio Zilles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arapoti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermínio Zilles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 67 minutes into the game, Hermínio Zilles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermínio Zilles couldn't finish the play. Luiz Paulo Vander came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Arapoti's Geovânio Pernambucano. But to his dismay, Geovânio Pernambucano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Hermínio Zilles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jardineira SS's Luiz Paulo Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Pernambucano in the 93rd minute of play. Luiz Paulo Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovânio Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Jardineira SS booed when Arapoti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belmiro Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geraldo Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute.
