Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Silas Esteves got the match started through his kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Luiz Mello in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remo Xavier saved Caracanga from getting behind. After 9 played minutes Goitacazes FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Simões. After recieving a nice pass, Caracanga's Luís Guilherme Vides tried to score from far away in the 10th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Caracanga's Wágner Britto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Duda Veloso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Caracanga's Silas Esteves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Duda Veloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Caracanga booed when Goitacazes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Goitacazes FC's Duda Veloso got control of the ball when Wágner Britto tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Caracanga booed when Goitacazes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Paulo Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silas Esteves in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Duda Veloso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 27th match minute, Goitacazes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruninho Simões to maneuver through the defense. Luís Guilherme Vides, 27 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Remo Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Remo Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luiz Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Bruninho Simões had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remo Xavier. Caracanga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruninho Simões was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luiz Rezende in the 38th minute of play forced Caracanga's goalkeeper Remo Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Pedro Luiz Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Goitacazes FC's Pedro Luiz Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Sílvio Luiz Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 46 minutes into the game, Pedro Luiz Mello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Remo Xavier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silas Esteves in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Duda Veloso saved Goitacazes FC from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Goitacazes FC's Pedro Luiz Mello slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Remo Xavier. That made the score 1-3 after 55 minutes of play. Sílvio Luiz Rezende's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remo Xavier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Goitacazes FC's Remo Xavier threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pedro Luiz Mello, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Silas Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silas Esteves in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duda Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wágner Britto struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Duda Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caracanga. Duda Veloso came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Caracanga's Silas Esteves. But to his dismay, Silas Esteves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. A collision led to Goitacazes FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Luís Paulo Neiva hit a great ball. In the 91stth minute of the game Silas Esteves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goitacazes FC's Duda Veloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bruninho Simões's late challenge caught a Caracanga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruninho Simões helped the player get up and apologised. The Goitacazes FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
