Luizinho Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute Manoel Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gil dos Santos during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Calcado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. After 10 minutes, Manoel Dias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mandacaru AD and the Calcado players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luizinho Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Fernandez in the 12th minute of play. Egídio Soeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Luizinho Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manoel Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Loyola having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manoel Dias in the 30th minute of play forced Calcado's goalkeeper Erivaldo Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 played minutes Calcado got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Viana. A collision led to Calcado getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Noel de Amorim hit a great ball. A hard and well directed shot from Zeca Eger led 38 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Calcado's Erivaldo Loyola became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Cláudio Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calcado's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luizinho Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manoel Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Erivaldo Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sabino Pinheiro to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Calcado's Rodolfo Santana got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Luizinho Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Sabino Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cláudio Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luizinho Cearense having to make a save. Luizinho Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erivaldo Loyola made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Luiz Paulo Magalhães sent off a good shot on target. Manoel Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute Cláudio Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Erivaldo Loyola throw himself and got hold of the ball when Sabino Pinheiro in the 92ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. If Gil dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mandacaru AD had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
