Dráusio Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinícius de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Edgard Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saguim EC. 10 minutes into the match, Saguim EC's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio Leão came free, but Fabiano Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elder Arantes hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Saguim EC's zone, Dráusio Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabiano Goiano came out of the goal and Dráusio Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th match minute, Saguim EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elder Arantes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Vinícius de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saguim EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinícius de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juarês Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Edgard Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juarês Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Paraibao SS booed when Saguim EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juarês Hermes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dráusio Leão got free with Fabiano Goiano in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 55 minutes, Patrício Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraibao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrício Saraiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juarês Hermes scored 1-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard Pinheiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 64th match minute, Paraibao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldinho Meira to maneuver through the defense. Patrício Saraiva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabiano Goiano having to make a save. Saguim EC's Fabiano Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrício Saraiva in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute Patrício Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrício Saraiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabiano Goiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. With his leg Fabiano Goiano managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Paraibao SS's Dráusio Leão fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Abelardo de Toledo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Fabiano Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrício Saraiva in the 91st minute of the match. Dráusio Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saguim EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
