Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Caldeirao's Dida de Andrade started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Manuel Senna came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Caldeirao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Senna couldn't finish the play. Aloísio Teixeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Senna's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. If Manuel Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Manuel Senna came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Caldeirao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Senna couldn't finish the play. Manuel Senna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Aloísio Teixeira made a huge save. Dida de Andrade's late challenge caught a Maripeme's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dida de Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th match minute, Caldeirao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dida de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Maripeme's Roberto Leite got a free kick in the 18th minute. When Dida de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Caldeirao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dida de Andrade couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Caldeirao getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Didi Gaúcho hit a great ball. Roberto Leite hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Manuel Senna succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 31st playminute. When Dida de Andrade in the 35th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Aloísio Teixeira kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Manuel Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aloísio Teixeira having to make a save. A collision led to Maripeme getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Claudinei Bezerra hit a great ball. Tomé Souza, 49 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorival Quirino to make the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Adriano Madureira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arlindo Loureiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Caldeirao booed when Maripeme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Dante didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Manuel Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dida de Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aloísio Teixeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dida de Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Cesinha Ramos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cesinha Ramos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Arlindo Loureiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. 71 minutes into the match, Caldeirao's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival Quirino came free, but Arlindo Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cesinha Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Arlindo Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Caldeirao's Didi Gaúcho got a free kick in the 75th minute. Arlindo Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Quirino in the 80th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dida de Andrade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aloísio Teixeira was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Aloísio Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aloísio Teixeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dida de Andrade's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Cesinha Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dorival Quirino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arlindo Loureiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Dorival Quirino slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 92nd minute. Fausto Alagoano hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute of the match Tomé Souza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aloísio Teixeira skillfully saved the ball.
