Botorobi's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Valdo Souto scored to the left of an out of position Zé Roberto Santos, making the score, 1-0. Zé Roberto Santos was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kiko Salgado. Armindo Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Mumbach in the 18th minute of play. Valdo Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Botorobi getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Simão Tróia hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Filipe Félix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Botorobi's Zé Roberto Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Botorobi from getting a goal against them. Maracai's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ademar Sampaio in the 24th minute. The corner ended in Ademar Sampaio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Botorobi's Zé Roberto Santos did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raí Salgado in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armindo Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maracai's goalkeeper Armindo Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Botorobi's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Valdo Souto 35 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Filipe Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Santos having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nestor Mumbach made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Raí Salgado made a precise shot to the right of Armindo Quintal. Botorobi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Valdo Souto came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Maracai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Souto couldn't finish the play.
