When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ramón Correia sped through Emboracica EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reinaldo de Medeiros. In the 8th match minute, Gritos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bebeto de Castro to maneuver through the defense. When Enéas Palmeira came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Emboracica EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas Palmeira couldn't finish the play. Zézinho Berger scored 0-2 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reinaldo de Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ramón Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo de Medeiros having to interfere. Gritos's Zézinho Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Roger Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute of the match Juvenal Varela sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reinaldo de Medeiros skillfully saved the ball. Emboracica EC's Reinaldo de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Correia in the 25th minute of play. Raúl Loyolas short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Miguel Esteves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Enéas Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enéas Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Esteves having to interfere. Zézinho Berger struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Reinaldo de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gritos. The crowd rose to their feet as Enéas Palmeira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Miguel Esteves. That made the score 1-2 in the 43 minute of play. In the 47th minute, Egídio Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Gritos's Juvenal Varela tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zézinho Berger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Igor Mandrak's late challenge caught a Emboracica EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Mandrak helped the player get up and apologised. Igor Mandrak kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Zézinho Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Reinaldo de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramón Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Emboracica EC's Enéas Palmeira in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gritos's goalie prevented a goal. Gritos's Zézinho Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Emboracica EC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Egídio Pitta hit a great ball. 2-2 became the score in the 71st minute when Enéas Palmeira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, Emboracica EC's Reinaldo de Medeiros got control of the ball when Ramón Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th match minute, Emboracica EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcinho Pitta to maneuver through the defense. Reinaldo de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho Berger in the 83rd minute of play. Germano Abreu's late challenge caught a Emboracica EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Germano Abreu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute there was a penalty for Emboracica EC. Osvaldinho Rossi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Miguel Esteves. 3-2. When Egídio Pitta was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. Egídio Pitta hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After 95 played minutes, Gritos's Juvenal Varela shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reinaldo de Medeiros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gritos reached it. Raúl Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Miguel Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raúl Loyola struck a weak shot in the 100th minute. Miguel Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Emboracica EC. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Emboracica EC had won after a very even match.
