After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Frédson Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caburu's supporters rose to their feet, but Frédson Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chico Sampaio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frédson Santos in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chico Sampaio saved Malu from getting behind. Chico Sampaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Secco in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match Elias Azevedo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Giuseppe Xavier skillfully saved the ball. Pedro Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Sampaio having to interfere. Pedro Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frédson Santos in the 23rd minute of play forced Malu's goalkeeper Chico Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Malu getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Elias Azevedo hit a great ball. When Jardel Rezende fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malu's protests and gave Jardel Rezende a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, Fernando Mota sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Malu's Chico Sampaio didn't even have to move. Chico Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caburu's Giuseppe Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tibúrcio Arósio in the 34th minute of play. Chico Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frédson Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Tibúrcio Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Xavier having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Malu's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Figueiredo came free, but Chico Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frédson Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tibúrcio Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Xavier having to interfere. Waldemar Leme kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Giuseppe Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luís Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frédson Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frédson Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Caburu's Frédson Santos got a free kick in the 60th minute. André Luís Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Giuseppe Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute Pedro Figueiredo suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 73 minutes into the game, Leonel Palmeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caburu the free kick. After 74 played minutes Malu got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Palmeira. A collision led to Caburu getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Magno Hermes hit a great ball. Frédson Santos struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Chico Sampaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caburu. Cícero Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
