The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Malu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luís Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Geovani Souto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, Chico Sampaio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Malu getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Cachaco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malu the free kick. After 14 played minutes Cachaco FC got a freekick which was hit by Frédson Faria. If Anselmo Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geovani Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, Malu's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Loureiro came free, but Chico Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernão Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tibúrcio Arósio, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Tony Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tibúrcio Arósio came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Malu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tibúrcio Arósio couldn't finish the play. In the 40th match minute, Cachaco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Varela to maneuver through the defense. Tony Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tony Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th minute, Tony Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Malu's Tibúrcio Arósio managed to work through Cachaco FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Tibúrcio Arósio dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 47 played minutes Cachaco FC got a freekick which was hit by Tony Varela. When Arlindo Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 49th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malu's protests and gave Arlindo Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 49 played minutes Malu got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Loureiro. In the 50th match minute, Cachaco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani Souto to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 58th minute Tony Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Luís Tasso got free with Fernão Rosa in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. André Luís Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernão Rosa having to interfere. André Luís Tasso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Fernão Rosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Anselmo Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Chico Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovani Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Sampaio having to interfere. If Tibúrcio Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 played minutes Cachaco FC got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Quadros. Leonel Palmeira missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 75 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Fernão Rosa right hand side. When Cachaco FC's Anselmo Loureiro in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Malu's goalie prevented a goal. Geovani Souto scored 2-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chico Sampaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anselmo Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Arlindo Loureiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 94 minutes had been played. In the 95th match minute, Malu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. Cachaco FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aleandro Baptista in the 98th minute. Aleandro Baptista made a great header on Cachaco FC's corner, it was just that Malu's Chico Sampaio managed to reach the ball for a save. Geovani Souto might have been able to make a better finish in the 101st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chico Sampaio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovani Souto ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cachaco FC had won after a very even match.
