In the 4th match minute, Mucuripe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Zé Paulo Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Gualter Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Neto took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gualter Ferraz. Gualter Ferraz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 21 minutes, Caetano Prado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mucuripe and the Escuro players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Caetano Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Escuro's goal looked a bit too open when André Neto came free, but Gualter Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Paulo Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Zé Paulo Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franklin Pinho's late challenge caught a Mucuripe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franklin Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. After 30 played minutes Escuro got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Pinho. After having played for 35 minutes, Zé Paulo Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mucuripe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Paulo Sarmento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Escuro defense, André Neto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gualter Ferraz. The Escuro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualter Ferraz should have stopped the shot. In the 43rd minute, Zé Paulo Sarmento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mucuripe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 48 minutes into the game, Escuro's João Paulo Moreira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gláuber Viana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for André Neto to strike the kick off in the second half. After 63 played minutes Escuro got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Pinho. Ismael Paranaense got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Escuro getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Ismael Paranaense hit a great ball. Gualter Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When André Neto came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Mucuripe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Neto couldn't finish the play. João Paulo Moreira hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Gualter Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Zé Paulo Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Mucuripe's André Neto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gualter Ferraz. Gualter Ferraz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Escuro's goalkeeper Gualter Ferraz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Zé Paulo Sarmento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
