The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Célio Toledo hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. The score was now 1-0. 28 minutes into the game, Célio Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abade's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catingueira EC the free kick. In the 29th minute, Célio Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Vítor Cosme in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adhemar Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vinícius Valladares charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vinícius Valladares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vinícius Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vânderson Urbano was the one to do the kick off. If Vânderson Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the match, Abade's goal looked a bit too open when João Vítor Cosme came free, but Adhemar Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Furtado in the 56th minute of play forced Abade's goalkeeper Adhemar Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, João Vítor Cosme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cido Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Vítor Luz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 62nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Mathias Ortiz. Adhemar Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Furtado in the 66th minute of the match. Lino Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathias Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 73 played minutes, Catingueira EC's Dorian de Brito shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adhemar Varela came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catingueira EC reached it. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Abade's goalkeeper Adhemar Varela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jairo de Godoy struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Adhemar Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catingueira EC. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
