If Sílvio Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 5 minutes, Sílvio Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Croa SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giovani Gomes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredinho de Toledo's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute Alfredinho de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovani Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredinho de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The supporters of Croa SC booed when Itaquara AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvaldo Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Sílvio Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 29thth minute of the game Edvaldo Britto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Croa SC's Tiago Cerezo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alfredinho de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Giovani Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Itaquara AD's Wilson Paes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tiago Cerezo. Tiago Cerezo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Giovani Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Terra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Wilson Paes came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Itaquara AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Paes couldn't finish the play. 48 minutes into the match, Itaquara AD's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredinho de Toledo came free, but Giovani Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilson Paes was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Alfredinho de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee showed Luiz Paulo Bertassi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Croa SC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Bertassi hit a great ball. Edvaldo Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrézinho Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Giovani Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Croa SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
