Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Róbson Andrade got the match started through his kick off. After 4 played minutes Desagua got a freekick which was hit by Armando Leme. After having played for 7 minutes, Aírton Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carolina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gernando Porto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cafu Matos in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute Róbson Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gernando Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlinhos Moreira struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gernando Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Desagua. In the 25thth minute of the game Aírton Salgado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Desagua's Evandro Abraão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cafu Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Desagua's Evandro Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney dos Santos in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Aírton Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carolina's supporters rose to their feet, but Aírton Salgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evandro Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sidney dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Evandro Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Róbson Andrade in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gernando Porto saved Carolina from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aírton Salgado made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Desagua's zone, Aírton Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evandro Abraão came out of the goal and Aírton Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Aírton Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carolina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Desagua getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Isaltino Prestes hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, Desagua's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Salgado came free, but Evandro Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulão Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Cafu Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Róbson Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Desagua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Róbson Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Evandro Abraão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidney dos Santos in the 81st minute. Evandro Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Salgado in the 83rd minute of play. In the 87th minute, Armandinho Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Desagua's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Aírton Salgado scored to the left of an out of position Evandro Abraão, making the score, 0-1. Sidney dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Carolina had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
