But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Perivaldo Leite couldn't finish the play. If Carlos Eduardo Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Paulo Carioca might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Vítor Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Paulo Carioca ran back to his position shaking his head. Osmar Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Ferrao's Cacá Queiroz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Vítor Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rafa Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Válter Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafa Favoretto hit a great ball. Tabaiana EC's João Vítor Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Queiroz in the 36th minute of play. In the 39thth minute of the game Pedro Paulo Carioca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tabaiana EC's João Vítor Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Cacá Queiroz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. João Vítor Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 45th minute of the match Eliézer da Mata sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Válter Vander skillfully saved the ball. After the first half Ferrao were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd minute Osmar Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Vander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Paulo Carioca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but João Vítor Queirós made a huge save. Pedro Paulo Carioca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Vítor Queirós having to make a save. Pedro Paulo Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vítor Queirós having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Cacá Queiroz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of João Vítor Queirós. The goal made the score 0-3. Tabaiana EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Rafa Favoretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Válter Vander. Ferrao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafa Favoretto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá Queiroz in the 89th minute of play forced Tabaiana EC's goalkeeper João Vítor Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Paulo Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. João Vítor Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ferrao had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
