After having played for 22 minutes, Teodoro de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Veado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodoro de Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Zé Paulo Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Veado's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Paulo Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerônimo Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ipamery's Jerônimo Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Ipamery from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute, Giovanni Hames hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodoro de Souza struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. In the 54th minute Reynaldo Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ipamery's Jerônimo Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Trigo in the 55th minute of play. Reynaldo Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro de Souza couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Jerônimo Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro de Souza in the 74th minute of play forced Ipamery's goalkeeper Jerônimo Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Veado getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Albertino Torres hit a great ball. After 88 minutes of play, Veado's Reynaldo Trigo made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerônimo Ribeiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Luís Eduardo Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Ipamery fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Eduardo Tavares couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute Teodoro de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Veado fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ipamery had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
