The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mazinho Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luiz Seco's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Valério Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Melo having to interfere. In the 9th match minute, Itacurubi AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Moreno to maneuver through the defense. Ediberto Leão's late challenge caught a Laudja SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ediberto Leão helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Laudja SC booed when Itacurubi AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes Laudja SC got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Cosme. 14 minutes into the match, Itacurubi AD's Isaltino Costa broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 27 minutes into the game, João Vítor Maranhense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laudja SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itacurubi AD the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Laudja SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute of the match Isaltino Costa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mazinho Silveira skillfully saved the ball. If Valério Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 minutes, Luiz Gustavo Moreno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itacurubi AD and the Laudja SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Itacurubi AD! André Luiz Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walmyr Cosme charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walmyr Cosme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Walmyr Cosme was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Laudja SC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Walmyr Cosme hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ediberto Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itacurubi AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Ediberto Leão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

If André Luiz Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Luiz Seco struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Mazinho Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itacurubi AD. André Luiz Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Mazinho Silveira made a huge save. In the 71st minute of the match, Ediberto Leão tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mazinho Silveira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Laudja SC's Valério Gonçalves in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Itacurubi AD's goalie prevented a goal. If Valério Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Laudja SC's goalkeeper Mazinho Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Luiz Seco. 85 minutes into the match, Laudja SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Leão came free, but Mazinho Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mazinho Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ediberto Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Valério Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laudja SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valério Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laudja SC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
