In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lavador's goalkeeper Dadá Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, Adalmo Chaves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dadá Souto. Lavador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adalmo Chaves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 12th minute Ademir Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raí Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th match minute, Tauapessassu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Branco to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Tauapessassu SS's Baltazar Arruda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dadá Souto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Lavador's Serginho dos Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raí Mesquita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tauapessassu SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adalmo Chaves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ademir Figueiredo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes, Lavador's Válter Borges shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raí Mesquita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lavador reached it. The audience was convinced that Ademir Figueiredo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raí Mesquita was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Dadá Souto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalmo Chaves in the 63rd minute of the match. Raí Mesquita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lavador. Raí Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Figueiredo in the 91st minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Cléberson Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tauapessassu SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lavador the free kick.
