After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Dinei Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bonecu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinei Soares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agnaldo Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Rubens França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alessandro Netto was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rubens França stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dinei Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Maia having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Rubens França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Umaita SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubens França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alessandro Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Umaita SC defense, Lenílson Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agnaldo Maia. The Umaita SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agnaldo Maia should have stopped the shot. In the 72nd minute Dinei Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alessandro Netto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. After 77 minutes, Andrézinho Abreu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bonecu SC and the Umaita SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andrézinho Abreu hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Luís Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Bonecu SC's Emanuel Martins got a free kick in the 81st minute. Rubens França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Alessandro Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Umaita SC's goalkeeper Agnaldo Maia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Umaita SC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Flávio Mandrak hit a great ball. Agnaldo Maia was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joélson Hermes.
