Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jarbas Rosa kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Malta's goalkeeper Thiago Tepedino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thiago Tepedino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Egídio Amaral in the 4th minute. Manhuassu's Pedro Luiz de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner de Senna in the 7th minute of play. Egídio Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Thiago Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Malta's zone, Francisco Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Tepedino came out of the goal and Francisco Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jacinto de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malta's protests and gave Jacinto de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. Jacinto de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisco Simões kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thiago Tepedino. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. Pedro Luiz de Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner de Senna in the 27th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Manhuassu got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Azevedo. 30 minutes into the match, Malta's Jarbas Rosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Luiz de Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Francisco Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardo Motta during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
After 53 played minutes Manhuassu got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Azevedo. If Francisco Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egídio Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Tepedino having to interfere. Thiago Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Simões in the 58th minute of the match. Francisco Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Thiago Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Manhuassu fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when Manhuassu's Francisco Simões looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jairo Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Manhuassu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Malta:s goal. Adrianinho de Andrade placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The audience was convinced that Egídio Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Tepedino was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Simões in the 84th minute of play forced Malta's goalkeeper Thiago Tepedino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Malta's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Amaral came free, but Thiago Tepedino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Simões in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Tepedino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Malta's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
