But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fábio Saraiva couldn't finish the play. Eliseu Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington Valadares having to interfere. Natanael Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Wellington Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Fábio Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. The supporters of Caracanga AD booed when Luna EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael Leme in the 55th minute of play forced Luna EC's goalkeeper Wellington Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wellington Valadares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. During the 71st minute of the match Breno Vianna completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Breno Vianna a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Caracanga AD booed when Luna EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breno Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wellington Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natanael Leme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliseu Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 87 minutes, Josué Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Luna EC and the Caracanga AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th match minute, Luna EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué Miranda to maneuver through the defense.
