If Lúcio Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eriberto Ceresso made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Benedito Tinoco sent off a good shot on target. A long shot from Edmundo Araújo in the 9th minute of play was well struck, but Eriberto Ceresso made a really good save at the right post. Edson Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Dedé Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mairipotaba SC's Eriberto Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Maia in the 13th minute of play. When Aleandro Trigo fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mairipotaba SC's protests and gave Aleandro Trigo a yellow card for diving instead. Dedé Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Matos in the 17th minute of the match. Eriberto Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Maia in the 25th minute of play. Lúcio Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eriberto Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Lavouras AD got a freekick which was hit by Hernani Paiva. Mairipotaba SC's Eriberto Ceresso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Mairipotaba SC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Lavouras AD's zone, Tiago Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedé Velloso came out of the goal and Tiago Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Benedito Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the match, Lúcio Maia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eriberto Ceresso, 1-0. Hernani Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Maia to make the kick off. Dedé Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caio Faustino in the 54th minute. With an all-out effort, Mairipotaba SC's Dedé Velloso threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edson Matos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Caio Faustino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedé Velloso having to interfere. In the 67th minute Edson Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedé Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernani Paiva got his second yellow card in the match during the 68th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Lavouras AD getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Hernani Paiva hit a great ball. Edson Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eriberto Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Tinoco in the 77th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Mairipotaba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito Tinoco came free, but Eriberto Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mairipotaba SC! After 94 minutes, Vitinho Sampaio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lavouras AD and the Mairipotaba SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vitinho Sampaio hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Lavouras AD's Dedé Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edson Matos in the 96th minute of play. Lúcio Maia charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Maia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th match minute, Lavouras AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Maia to maneuver through the defense.
