Cipriano de Mendonças short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Rubinho Goiano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gino Esteves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Téo Botelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. When Alberto Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Paleomano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tasso couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Esteves in the 12th minute of play forced Petunia's goalkeeper Téo Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Téo Botelho having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Petunia's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tasso came free, but Téo Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alberto Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Tasso took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Téo Botelho. Téo Botelho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 32 minutes into the game, Paleomano's Gino Esteves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Téo Botelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Dráusio Schmidt hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Alberto Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Rafa Vides got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Rafa Vides got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 47th minute Cipriano de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Paleomano were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gino Esteves to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Sílvio Cearense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Petunia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paleomano the free kick. 63 minutes into the match, Paleomano's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano de Mendonça came free, but Rubinho Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Téo Botelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th match minute, Petunia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Urbano to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Paleomano's Gino Esteves ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Téo Botelho. Téo Botelho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. 69 minutes into the game, Giovanni Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paleomano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Petunia the free kick. Giovanni Mendonça hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Petunia's Cipriano de Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubinho Goiano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Gustavo Veloso missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 77 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Téo Botelho right hand side. Gino Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Téo Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafa Vides struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Rubinho Goiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petunia. Rubinho Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano de Mendonça in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Paleomano's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano de Mendonça came free, but Rubinho Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Paleomano eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
