After having played for 5 minutes, Washington Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itacaja's supporters crossed their fingers, but Washington Ferraz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Vladimir Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Washington Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Reynaldo Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladimir Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Neiva having to interfere. In the 19th play minute Washington Ferraz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Reynaldo Arósio. 1-0. Vladimir Albuquerque might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amílton Neiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladimir Albuquerque ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugo Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Amílton Neiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ezequiel de Souza during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Jequery booed when Itacaja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th match minute, Itacaja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vladimir Albuquerque hit a great ball. Itacaja's Washington Ferraz got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Luiz Fabiano Lucas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Jequery's Reynaldo Arósio didn't even have to move. In the 74th minute, Zé Roberto Carneiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Arósio was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Jequery's zone, Zé Roberto Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Arósio came out of the goal and Zé Roberto Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Hugo Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Raí Veloso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Itacaja's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
