In the 5th minute Claudinei Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vágner Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Futuro getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Flávio Terra hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Futuro's Nando Cunha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hamílton Cavalcante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hamílton Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogério Lira in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamílton Cavalcante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hamílton Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Lira in the 22nd minute of play. Filipe Azevedo hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute Nando Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamílton Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nando Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the game, Flávio Terra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Futuro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Orleans SS the free kick. In the 36th match minute, Futuro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Terra to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Futuro getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Isaltino de Amorim hit a great ball. João Carlos Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Orleans SS's João Carlos Dracena got a free kick in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Rogério Lira made the kick off in the second half. Vágner Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Carlos Dracena in the 52nd minute of the match. Vágner Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vágner Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Fernandez in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, Futuro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Terra to maneuver through the defense. The Orleans SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After 72 played minutes Futuro got a freekick which was hit by Fred de Godoy. Nando Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Hamílton Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, João Paulo Britto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Futuro's Ramiro Santana got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute Claudinei Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vágner Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Nando Cunha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hamílton Cavalcante was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. With a little luck, Orleans SS's Hamílton Cavalcante got control of the ball when Nando Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Futuro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
