The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Digo Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the match, Pricilio's Sílvio Alagoano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Digo Maciel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Alexandre Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olívio Sabóia was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 11th minute, Washington Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute, Osmar Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Junccao SC's David Nogueira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 14th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pricilio. The supporters of Junccao SC booed when Pricilio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Washington Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Frank Toledo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Olívio Sabóia. Frank Toledo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 24th minute Anselmo Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Digo Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alexandre Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes Pricilio got a freekick which was hit by Washington Palmeira. Washington Palmeira was shown his second yellow card after 29 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Washington Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Frank Toledo struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Olívio Sabóia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Junccao SC. 36 minutes into the match, Junccao SC's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Alagoano came free, but Digo Maciel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Sílvio Alagoano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Digo Maciel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Naldo Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th minute, David Nogueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute of the match Junccao SC got a corner. Pricilio's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. David Nogueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alexandre Couto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olívio Sabóia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Frank Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Alexandre Couto made a precise shot to the right of Olívio Sabóia. Pricilio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Frank Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute Alexandre Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olívio Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osmar Amorim hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Couto in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olívio Sabóia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 83 minutes into the game, Alexandre Couto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Olívio Sabóia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sílvio Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Digo Maciel having to interfere. Pricilio's Sílvio Alagoano was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 93rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Junccao SC had won after a very even match.
