Jefferson Sá who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Digo Maciel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 25 minutes into the game, Júlio de Barros recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Digo Maciel. Júlio de Barros showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Luiz Fabiano Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jefferson Sá in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Digo Maciel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 41st minute, Júlio de Barros reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Digo Maciel. The goal made the score 2-0. If Alexandre Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio de Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Alexandre Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Hermes was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 59th match minute, Aroases was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emerson do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Aroases's protests and gave Emerson do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. Emerson do Nascimento was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Junccao SC's David Nogueira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Aroases. Digo Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Sá in the 91st minute of play. Aroases were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Junccao SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Osvaldo Neto took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Osvaldo Neto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Digo Maciel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Aroases's Júlio de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aroases's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
