Ernani Veloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rafa Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Augusto Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cocau AD's goalkeeper Ernani Veloso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nelson de Queirós struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Augusto Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cocau AD. Júlio Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ernani Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Espadim's Júlio Alagoano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ernani Veloso. That made the score 3-1 after 37 minutes of play. Júlio Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Veloso having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Alagoano in the 48th minute of play forced Cocau AD's goalkeeper Ernani Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelson de Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Espadim's Augusto Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson de Queirós in the 56th minute of play. A collision led to Espadim getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Álvaro Eger hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the match, Espadim's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson de Queirós came free, but Augusto Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Armando do Nascimento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cocau AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espadim the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cocau AD's Armando do Nascimento got a free kick in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Barros in the 80th minute of play forced Cocau AD's goalkeeper Ernani Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Cocau AD's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Alagoano came free, but Ernani Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelson de Queirós in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augusto Quintal saved Espadim from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Espadim's Hamílton Magalhães got a free kick in the 90th minute. Rafa Simões's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Quintal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. When Nelson de Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Cocau AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelson de Queirós couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Espadim's Vinícius Marquez got a free kick in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cocau AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Espadim.
