When Perivaldo Borges came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Jesuania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Perivaldo Borges couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Jesuania's goal looked a bit too open when Elder Rosado came free, but Osvaldinho Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tales Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Borges in the 24th minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Perivaldo Borges to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elder Rosado in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldinho Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elder Rosado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Digo Leme during the 58th minute. Elder Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Catarinense having to interfere. In the 65th minute Gil Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Perivaldo Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tales Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Perivaldo Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. Gil Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Eduardo Valladares's late challenge caught a Jesuania's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
