Rubens Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Diniz in the 32nd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Trombucas's goal looked a bit too open when Elder Rosado came free, but Rubens Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Elder Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Gil Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itamuri EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gil Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elder Rosado to strike the kick off in the second half. Rubens Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elder Rosado in the 57th minute of play. Tales Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Tales Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vágner Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marcos de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Hermes hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. When Elder Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Itamuri EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elder Rosado couldn't finish the play. Rubens Toledo made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Gil Diniz sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th match minute, Itamuri EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. Marcos de Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Tales Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trombucas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vágner Veiga in the 93rd minute of play forced Itamuri EC's goalkeeper Tales Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Itamuri EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Trombucas.
