Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Zé Paulo Castro got the match started through his kick off. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Hermínio Fonseca put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kléber Alcântara. Kléber Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 25th minute, Lopei's Téo de Brito seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Téo de Brito the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lopei protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Téo de Brito had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lopei! In the 35th minute Zé Paulo Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléber Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gilvan Soeiro fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lopei's protests and gave Gilvan Soeiro a yellow card for diving instead. Hermínio Fonseca scored 1-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kléber Alcântara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Lopei's zone, Hermínio Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kléber Alcântara came out of the goal and Hermínio Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hermínio Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Kléber Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Canabravao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Paulo Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudinho Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Dracena having to interfere. After some careless play in the Lopei defense, Hermínio Fonseca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kléber Alcântara. The Lopei fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kléber Alcântara should have stopped the shot. Geraldo Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geraldo Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Geraldo Vidal hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Canabravao supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Canabravao would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
