The tension between the Teffe and the Capoeirinha SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. With an all-out effort, Capoeirinha SS's Baltazar Negri threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dito Teixeira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodriguinho Gaúcho in the 25th minute of play forced Capoeirinha SS's goalkeeper Kléber Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raí Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raí Baiano in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kléber Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Raí Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dé Viana's late challenge caught a Teffe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dé Viana helped the player get up and apologised. Dé Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Rodriguinho Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Kléber Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodriguinho Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half.
