The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Giru SC's Luiz Paulo Sabóia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Giru SC from getting a goal against them. Magno Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Luiz Paulo Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 13 minutes, Tiago de Godoy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Giru SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiago de Godoy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celso Alagoano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Bento's Magno Duarte slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luiz Paulo Sabóia. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. After 29 played minutes Giru SC got a freekick which was hit by Edson Moura. Allan Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Alagoano in the 33rd minute of play. Giru SC's Luiz Paulo Sabóia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Giru SC from getting a goal against them. Luiz Paulo Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Tiago de Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Allan Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Magno Duarte in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magno Duarte to make the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Clemente Palmeira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luiz Paulo Sabóia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fernando Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clemente Palmeira placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Humberto Gonçalves hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. When Digo Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bento's protests and gave Digo Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Bento got a freekick which was hit by Digo Carneiro. It was beautiful to see Giru SC's Gustavo Duarte in action when he in the 72nd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Tiago de Godoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Maranhense having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Xavier in the 85th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luizão Xavier during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th match minute, Bento was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Xavier to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago de Godoy in the 88th minute of play forced Bento's goalkeeper Allan Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Celso Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Bento's goalkeeper Allan Maranhense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto Gonçalves. Bento were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Giru SC for a fine match.
