Inácio Carioca started the match with the kick off. Dida Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ademar Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Marquez in the 6th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Vilhena SS's Carlos Fernando Mesquita got a free kick in the 7th minute. Dida Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clóvis Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dida Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Carlos Fernando Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Cearense having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida Prado in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clóvis Almeida saved Vilhena SS from getting behind. Carlos Fernando Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Vilhena SS's Pedro Luiz Marquez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ademar Cearense. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. Inácio Carioca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Almeida having to interfere. In the 35thth minute of the game Pedro Luiz Marquez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Frades's Ademar Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Clóvis Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Nelson Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Vilhena SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelson Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vilhena SS booed when Frades was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Cearense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Fernando Mesquita in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Luiz Marquez to make the kick off. Carlos Fernando Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Cearense having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Vilhena SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Frades's zone, Pedro Luiz Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademar Cearense came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Luiz Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Cearense having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Frades's Dida Prado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clóvis Almeida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Cristóvão da Cunha hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Clóvis Almeida made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Dida Prado sent off a good shot on target. In the 81stth minute of the game Pedro Luiz Marquez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Frades's Ademar Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ademar Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Marquez in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Carioca in the 89th minute of play forced Vilhena SS's goalkeeper Clóvis Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgílio Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Almeida having to interfere. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vilhena SS's goalkeeper Clóvis Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
