The goalkeeper, Douglas da Silva, was totally fooled by Vilhena SS's Geovani Xavier, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 15 minutes into the game, Tarame AD's Joel Miranda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clóvis Almeida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Pedro Luiz Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vilhena SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luiz Marquez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas da Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Vilhena SS's Cristóvão da Cunha got a free kick in the 24th minute. Joel Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Clóvis Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luizão Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Joel Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Almeida having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Tomás Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tarame AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clóvis Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Vilhena SS getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Carlos Fernando Mesquita hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Pombal was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Tarame AD's zone, Carlos Fernando Mesquita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas da Silva came out of the goal and Carlos Fernando Mesquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Joel Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tarame AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Miranda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clóvis Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 59 minutes of play, Vilhena SS's Pedro Luiz Marquez made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Douglas da Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Douglas da Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Miranda got free with Clóvis Almeida in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Douglas da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Mesquita in the 76th minute of play. If Pedro Luiz Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clóvis Almeida made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Joel Miranda sent off a good shot on target. Vilhena SS's Clóvis Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Vilhena SS from getting a goal against them. After having played for 88 minutes, Marcos Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarame AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 89 played minutes Vilhena SS got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão da Cunha. Douglas da Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Luiz Marquez's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Carlos Fernando Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
