Eriberto Passos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fellipe Antunes's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Rezende in the 8th minute of play forced Faxinalzinho's goalkeeper Róbson Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arlindo Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Joaquim Terra notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Benjamim's Eriberto Passos. Eriberto Passos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36th minute, Fellipe Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Joaquim Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Faxinalzinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Passos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Benjamim getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Natã Romero hit a great ball. If Joaquim Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Benjamim's Ernesto Paraibano got a free kick in the 46th minute. Faxinalzinho's Manuel Brasil couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Benjamim. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélder Veloso to make the kick off. Faxinalzinho's Joaquim Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Róbson Matorin made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Serginho Rezende sent off a good shot on target. Joaquim Terra struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Eriberto Passos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faxinalzinho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Veloso in the 76th minute of play forced Faxinalzinho's goalkeeper Róbson Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serginho Rezende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Róbson Matorin made a huge save. If Serginho Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the game, Fellipe Mumbach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Benjamim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Faxinalzinho the free kick. After some careless play in the Benjamim defense, Fellipe Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eriberto Passos. The Benjamim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eriberto Passos should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Benjamim's zone, Joaquim Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Passos came out of the goal and Joaquim Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe Antunes in the 92nd minute of play forced Benjamim's goalkeeper Eriberto Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Faxinalzinho booed when Benjamim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Faxinalzinho had won after a very even match.
