Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Palmacia SC's Laércio de Mendonça started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 12 minutes into the match, Fernandes's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio de Mendonça came free, but Vivaldo Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afonsinho Netto came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Fernandes's Luís Paulo Terra. But to his dismay, Luís Paulo Terra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Fernandes's Luís Paulo Terra in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palmacia SC's goalie prevented a goal. Virgílio Novaes's late challenge caught a Palmacia SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Virgílio Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Fernandes getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Virgílio Novaes hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Palmacia SC's goalkeeper Afonsinho Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Egídio Moraes. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmacia SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bernardo Varela was slow to take the kick. During this time Fernandes's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Nelson Lucas heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Romário Fontes hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Luís Paulo Terra struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Afonsinho Netto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fernandes. Afonsinho Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Moraes in the 33rd minute of play. Fernandes's Vivaldo Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio da Rocha in the 35th minute of play. Afonsinho Netto was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Doni Cardoso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Doni Cardoso really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egídio Moraes to make the kick off. In the last second Vivaldo Fontes throw himself and got hold of the ball when Laércio de Mendonça in the 53rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 56th minute, Egídio Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Palmacia SC's David Hames got a free kick in the 57th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Egídio Moraes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Afonsinho Netto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 64 minutes into the match, Palmacia SC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Terra came free, but Afonsinho Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Fernandes booed when Palmacia SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonsinho Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Moraes in the 66th minute of play. Marcelo Messias took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vivaldo Fontes. Fernandes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Egídio da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Palmacia SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egídio da Rocha couldn't finish the play. Luís Paulo Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Palmacia SC's Afonsinho Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Moraes in the 78th minute of play. Egídio Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luís Paulo Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 96 minutes of play, Fernandes's Luís Paulo Terra made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Afonsinho Netto was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fernandes fully deserved thier win.
