After 3 played minutes Garapa AD got a freekick which was hit by Arí Saraiva. Alberto Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Pedrão do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vânderson Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Mangueira in the 14th minute of play. Vânderson Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Mangueira in the 15th minute of the match. When Anderson Secco fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maracana AD's protests and gave Anderson Secco a yellow card for diving instead. Anderson Secco hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Garapa AD's Donato Esteves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vânderson Sena narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alberto Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Pedrão do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Alberto Velasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedrão do Vale. Garapa AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Velasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With a little luck, Garapa AD's Pedrão do Vale got control of the ball when Alberto Velasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vânderson Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Mangueira in the 37th minute of the match. Dagoberto Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Vânderson Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40thth minute of the game Mário de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maracana AD's Vânderson Sena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Dagoberto Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Velasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Durval Neto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Davi França kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute Durval Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vânderson Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Mangueira in the 81st minute of play. Mário de Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Vânderson Sena made a huge save. After 87 minutes of play Maracana AD's Anderson Secco was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 88 played minutes Maracana AD got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Secco. Mário de Andrade scored 1-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vânderson Sena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 96 minutes, Dagoberto Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garapa AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dagoberto Mangueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
