Laginha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agostinho Severo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 7th minute, Agostinho Severo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emerson da Mata. The goal made the score 2-0. Agostinho Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 14 played minutes Laginha got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Breckenfeld. If Otávio Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Walmyr Toscano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Laginha's zone, Otávio Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson da Mata came out of the goal and Otávio Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdo Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Jacarehype's Nilmar Negri got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Jean Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Frédson da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Agostinho Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emerson da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Jean Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agostinho Severo made a kick off. Valdo Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jacarehype's zone, Jean Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson da Silva came out of the goal and Jean Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Jacarehype's Frédson da Silva got control of the ball when Valdo Alagoano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nilmar Negri charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nilmar Negri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Laginha booed when Jacarehype was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato de Godoy's late challenge caught a Laginha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donato de Godoy helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Jacarehype getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Donato de Godoy hit a great ball. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jacarehype's goalkeeper Frédson da Silva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Laginha booed when Jacarehype was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frédson da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Oliveira in the 93rd minute of the match. Nilmar Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson da Mata having to interfere.
