João Adolfo Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Marquez in the 8th minute of play. Mergulhao FC's João Adolfo Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Marquez in the 9th minute of play. After 10 played minutes Mergulhao FC got a freekick which was hit by Percy dos Santos. Claudinei Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. João Adolfo Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Adolfo Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrianinho Antunes in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrianinho Antunes in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Adolfo Braga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute, Elano Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudinei Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bugre's Délio Branco suffered a concussion after 32 minutes and had to leave the field. Elano Pinheiro charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elano Pinheiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elano Pinheiro hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. A collision led to Bugre getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Edgar Xavier hit a great ball. Waldir Cearense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 37 minutes of play Mergulhao FC's Elano Pinheiro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Mergulhao FC's Elano Pinheiro got a free kick in the 37th minute. Claudinei Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With splendid footwork Waldir Cearense arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-0 by the left pole in the game's 44th minute. Olavo Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldir Cearense in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After 53 minutes, Pedro Paulo Vieira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bugre and the Mergulhao FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Bugre getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Pedro Paulo Vieira hit a great ball. Waldir Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Mergulhao FC's goalkeeper João Adolfo Braga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudinei Marquez. Claudinei Marquez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olavo Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldir Cearense in the 72nd minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Michel Dracena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Olavo Quirino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Bugre's Claudinei Marquez in 81 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. João Adolfo Braga guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 83 minutes into the match, Bugre's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Cearense came free, but Olavo Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Claudinei Marquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Adolfo Braga was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Mergulhao FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
