Chumbado EC's Luisão Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Chumbado EC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Chumbado EC's Luisão Mangueira got control of the ball when Serafim Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Suez's Daniel Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo de Senna in the 18th minute of play. If Remo Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Wilian Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chumbado EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilian Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 29 minutes, Serafim Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Remo Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisão Mangueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remo Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. 38 minutes into the match, Remo Almeida dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luisão Mangueira, 2-1. Álvaro Viana's late challenge caught a Chumbado EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Álvaro Viana helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Suez fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! In the 47th minute there was a penalty for Chumbado EC. Tomás Aguiar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Daniel Almeida. 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remo Almeida to make the kick off. Betão Soares hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Suez's Álvaro Viana tried to score from far away in the 54th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Remo Almeida notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Chumbado EC's Luisão Mangueira. Luisão Mangueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Serafim Teles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Luisão Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chumbado EC's Luisão Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remo Almeida in the 68th minute of play. Acácio Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Álvaro Viana, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diamantino Pena during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes Suez got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Pena. When Marcelo de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Chumbado EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo de Senna couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute Wilian Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafim Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acácio Freitas charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Acácio Freitas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Acácio Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match.
