Carlos Alberto Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Júlio Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Fabiano Alves took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beto Maranhense. Beto Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Júlio Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Beto Maranhense was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Luís Gustavo Teles capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luís Gustavo Teles really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Trigo in the 27th minute of play forced Correias AD's goalkeeper Júlio Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Correias AD's Décio Senna got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Júlio Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fabiano Alves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Beto Maranhense skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Luís Gustavo Teles struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Beto Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Correias AD. 46 minutes into the match, Ibiagui's goalkeeper Beto Maranhense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Fabiano Alves. 48 minutes into the match, Marcos Toscano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júlio Cosme. Correias AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcos Toscano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Gustavo Teles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Ibiagui:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Correias AD:s goal. Beto Maranhense went to the wrong direction when Edson Porto was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a rather tough play, Ibiagui's Gustavo Bezerra got a free kick in the 61st minute. Luís Gustavo Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felippe Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Beto Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Trigo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júlio Cosme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 74th minute Luís Gustavo Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beto Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Correias AD getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Lino Botelho hit a great ball. If Carlos Alberto Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Correias AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ibiagui had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
