Joélson Vidal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emerson Fernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Mumbach showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dadá da Mata in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sérgio Mumbach, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Joélson Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Emerson Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the game, Vivaldo Andrade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0.
