In the 3rd minute, Lucas Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Adhemar Mumbach fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pauliceia's protests and gave Adhemar Mumbach a yellow card for diving instead. Adhemar Mumbach hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Mazinho Trancoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Lucas Fernandes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mazinho Trancoso having to make a save. Adhemar Mumbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mazinho Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 minutes of play Pauliceia's Adhemar Mumbach was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 20 played minutes Pauliceia got a freekick which was hit by Adhemar Mumbach. In the 22nd minute, Lucas Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Vivaldo Oliveira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valério de Alcântara. Vivaldo Oliveira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Vivaldo Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Conceicao's Vivaldo Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armindo Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 42 minutes, Frédson Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pauliceia and the Conceicao players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Pauliceia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson Moraes to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 46 minutes, Armindo Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Conceicao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
Valério de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Valério de Alcântara came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Conceicao's Vivaldo Oliveira. But to his dismay, Vivaldo Oliveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Valério de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armindo Araújo in the 62nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Fernandes got free with Mazinho Trancoso in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Umberto Valadares charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Umberto Valadares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Pauliceia's Umberto Valadares got a free kick in the 65th minute. Vivaldo Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério de Alcântara having to interfere. If Lucas Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Pauliceia's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo Oliveira came free, but Valério de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leopoldo Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Armindo Araújo struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Valério de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Conceicao. The corner ended in Christian Porto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pauliceia's Valério de Alcântara did a great save. Armindo Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Valério de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pauliceia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
