The supporters of Deserto SC booed when Jitauna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovanni Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo de Amaral having to interfere. Jitauna's Maurinho da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão França in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerson Paes got free with Américo de Amaral in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Betão França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho da Costa having to interfere. In the 36th minute Moisés Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Américo de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Betão França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sílvio Luís Reis to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Jitauna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovanni Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Jitauna's Ronaldão de Queiroz got a free kick in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moisés Schmidt in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Américo de Amaral saved Deserto SC from getting behind. Moisés Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
