Luizão Mota hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Canabravinha SC's Artur Freitas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeca Jacinto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Artur Freitas scored 1-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zeca Jacinto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Babilonia's Natã Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Babilonia defense, Pedro Dante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zeca Jacinto. The Babilonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeca Jacinto should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, Canabravinha SC could leave the field as winners, despite Babilonia having more of the ball for most of the match.
