Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Palmeiras's Romário Vergílio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Altonia's Victor Gomes got a free kick in the 7th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Ulisses de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulisses de Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldemar Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Waldemar Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Rezende in the 12th minute of play. Waldemar Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauro Quirino in the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Cláudio de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remo Sena to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Palmeiras were awarded a corner. Romário Vergílio went to the cornerflag to take it. Remo Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Sá having to interfere. Waldemar Sá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulisses de Senna's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. A collision led to Altonia getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Alan Leão hit a great ball. Geraldo Rezende might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waldemar Sá. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geraldo Rezende ran back to his position shaking his head. If Geraldo Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulisses de Senna in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldemar Sá prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Waldemar Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Rezende in the 40th minute of play. Yan Meira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vítor Prata firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ulisses de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Vergílio in the 44th minute of play forced Altonia's goalkeeper Waldemar Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Palmeiras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doni Barreto made a kick off. Waldemar Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Rezende in the 54th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Altonia's goalkeeper Waldemar Sá had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulisses de Senna. Ulisses de Senna struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Waldemar Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. 61 minutes into the match, Lauro Quirino notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Altonia's Waldemar Sá. Waldemar Sá was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Romário Vergílio came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Palmeiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romário Vergílio couldn't finish the play. Edu Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 68th play minutes Ulisses de Senna shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Waldemar Sá and just under the crossbar into goal. Palmeiras's Romário Vergílio got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Waldemar Sá managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Palmeiras's Lauro Quirino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ulisses de Senna in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Waldemar Sá, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ulisses de Senna's shot straight on target was not completely harmless.
