The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Quadros in the 7th minute of play forced Patu SC's goalkeeper Custódio Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Luisinho Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hermínio Mandrak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Gernando Rossi made a huge save. The supporters of Patu SC booed when Oeste Barueri Andrade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldão Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Carlos Trigo hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. A collision led to Patu SC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Gilmar Arantes hit a great ball. If Ronaldão Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Custódio Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Alcântara in the 35th minute of play. Wellington Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Custódio Porto having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilmar Arantes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Wellington Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Oeste Barueri Andrade fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wellington Quadros couldn't finish the play. Ronaldão Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Custódio Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59thth minute of the game Wellington Quadros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Patu SC's Custódio Porto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luisinho Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Patu SC's zone, Wellington Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Custódio Porto came out of the goal and Wellington Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wellington Quadross short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Custódio Porto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Custódio Porto managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Oeste Barueri Andrade's Wellington Quadros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Custódio Porto made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Wellington Quadros sent off a good shot on target. Custódio Porto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kléber Queirós went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Custódio Porto made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Kléber Queirós sent off a good shot on target. Kléber Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 92 played minutes Patu SC got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Gonçalves. Wellington Quadros struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Custódio Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oeste Barueri Andrade.
